Artist: Sharon Thompson

Sharon Thompson

She grew up in Toronto, Ontario attending the only Welsh church in Canada. On Sunday mornings she would be found singing the first verse in English, and the second in Welsh. This beautiful Gaelic language can be found on her recordings.

Sharon has recorded 3 albums to date: Visions of Hymn and her latest, More of Hymn, received nominations for Album of the Year and Song of the Year in the Traditional Category from GMA Canada. Considered a lyrical soprano, Sharon was classically trained under William Nahr: New York City Center Opera Company. With such a crystal clear voice she has even been called a `songbird` by past producers.

Sharon loves to sing God’s praises especially her own material since each song has a story. “Run to Jesus”, for instance, was birthed out of being in the sandwich generation: a stay at home mom taking care of her own family plus aging parents. She is currently a soloist for church music ministry and teaches voice at “Sing for the King” vocal studio in her hometown of Orangeville, Ontario.

A self-taught musician and songwriter, Marty began playing guitar at the age of fifteen, writing his own songs almost right from the beginning. A few years later, after he had built up enough self-confidence and a large enough repertoire, Marty began performing regularly in local bars and clubs, and over thirty years later, he still continues to do that with a selection of classic pop and rock hits, with the focus on the singer-songwriters of those eras, and mix in a few of his own songs.

Over the years Marty has performed in several bands and duos, including the California rock/Neil Young tribute trio Decade, classic rock duo Desert Son, veteran bar band The Funkings, and a duo with local singer-songwriter Rick Rose. In 2005 he released his first album of original songs 'Ghosts' to extremely favorable reviews and is currently working on its follow-up, “'Northern Town.'”

Marty receives regular air play on stations such as CORE Radio in Wales, and NKN Radio in Germany, and recently received airplay on KOKE FM, in Austin, Texas.
